Dedication

Dedicating this scriblet to the gal who made my day today
(and a few of my twenty-something years).
Secretly, I o hope that I made her day.
Now, noone can blame that ain’t dedicated.

Am utterly dependent @ this moment.
Drafting this note on a gadget, listening to rock music, consuming a scottish drink.
Don’t know how any wizard could have pulled a laptop out of electrons.
Have never held a guitar in ma hands.
The scottish drink is a gift from my friend.
All of us are utterly dependent.
But do we give-back?
This scriblet is all that I offer now.

If we count on dependency, we will have to count our days as well.
Time is our ultimate dependency.
We are consuming time created by someone, someone superior,
someone who make the sun burn and the earth revolve around.
Call him as whatever you want.

But is it possible to pay this guy back?
Is it possible to return all the time we consumed to him?
May b time-travel will help.
But if we travel in to future, i
t just means that we consume time @ an accelerated pace.
So travelling forward in time won't help.
What if we cud travel back and return all time we consumed so far?
Great idea.
But we don’t know how to bend the physical laws to do it.
Until we learn that we should work.
Work and pay the fruits of work to the supreme Him.

When we do that we indirectly pay back the laptop engineer,
rock musician and scotch distiller as well.
Am gonna write a book and make a movie.
That’s my pay back(apart from whatever worthy deed I do everyday).

Film makers and musicians touch more lives than they realize.
Some in positive ways and few others in other ways.
Blessed is he, who can inspire others with his work.
All great directors and musicians
(the Torontinos, AR Rehmans, David Lynchs, Mani Rathnams, Pink floyds)
are a blessed lot in this way. But people seem to be obsessed with films.

“His films have always been a hit hit. But this one isn’t”
“Hey, it’s a gr8 movie”
“Yes, but that’s not my point. It’s not a hit”
“It has already crossed 25 days”
“But this film cost 20+ crore Rupees to make. It has to run atleast 50 days to break-even”
“May b u r rite. The protagonist takes 10 crore”
This was the conversation between a hotel owner and his servant.
It was supposed to be the peak hour in the hotel.
But there wasn’t much ppl around.
While I was wondering why where all the customers had gone,
he was concerned about this big-budget film's financials.
Well, it’s his business. He must know how to run it.

But the restaurant servant/owner isn’t the only guy doing this.
The entire nation is obsessed with cinema.
On average, every citizen spends 1 hour per day on cinema or discussing cinema.
That’s lot of effort if you consider the entire population.
It’s this collective indulgence in cinema that contributes
so much money to the people involved in it.
If you have something else that can catch the fancy of ppl, you have clear winner.
But what could it be?

Shades make things interesting.
A plain Jane catches noone’s attention.
It is the imperfections in each of us that make us more human.
A personality shines only when it is juxtaposed with its silver lining and slimy shades.
I got my shades.
The silver linings??
Well, I must ask ma friends.

Shades are essential not just for character.
It is equally important for whiskey as well.
The dark golden shade makes u mistake it for elixer.
well, I have never seen nor tasted elixir.
But if it really does exist,
This is how it should be.

Wanted to paint an ode to my bottle of scotch.
Looking back, seems like I have already done it.

Started this column with a dedication.
The gal behind the dedication has her shades as well.
Shades that make her incredibly interesting.
She isn’t a plane Jane,
Neither is she my Jane.
But she’s almost the one behind ma mane.
Almost.

Love is the biggest source of strength but
Also the biggest vulnerability.

Your lucid and clear thoughts almost inspired me, except for the repetitive themes like Scotch, She , Pink floyd and the progtagonist. Post on The Chandrayan ??
